Until early 1900's, Pasig River used to be an important means of transport for Manila. And a source of lifeline for its people because of the bounty harvest of fishes from the river.
But due to the rapid industrialization and carelessness of the people living near the river, it has become very polluted and is considered dead.Stenchy! Dark! Dirty! As if all the negative words you can find in the dictionary could very well define this river.
After 7 years... Hopefully, seven years from now, it will look like this (check the photo below). Modern, yet clean and peaceful to look at.
Alive! Navigable! Swimmable!

Rehabilitation includes the relocation of squatters living along the river banks.
But for now, as we count the target seven years or maybe more, let us do our share. Can we keep our garbage and stop polluting our river. Please.
